What is The Claik?
The Claik is the University of St Andrews online insight community, run by the Communications, Marketing & Public Affairs team. We use it to carry out market research – surveys, polls, and discussions – with students and alumni. Your input helps us understand what matters to you and shapes how we communicate and plan for the future.
Who runs The Claik?
The Claik is run by the Market Research team within CMPA at the University of St Andrews. It is not a student-facing service or a welfare resource.
Is The Claik the same as a student survey or formal consultation?
No. The Claik is a market research tool. It is not a formal consultation mechanism, a replacement for the National Student Survey, or any other official feedback route. Results are used for internal research and planning purposes only.
Can I raise a complaint or welfare concern through The Claik?
No. The Claik is not a complaints channel or welfare service. If you need support or want to raise a concern formally, please visit st-andrews.ac.uk/students/advice for the relevant contacts and processes.
What happens to my data?
The Claik is hosted on the Largo (QuMind) platform. Your personal data is held securely and is never shared with third parties or with other University departments. Results are always reported in aggregated, anonymised form. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Will I hear back about what you did with my responses?
Yes. After every major activity, we shall publish a short summary in our newsletter, telling you what you told us and what we did with it. Seeing the impact of your input is central to how The Claik works.
